BECKMAN FLIGHT
SCRAMBLE FORMAT ~ All four players hit their tee-shot. Play will be from the white tees for both days. The captain decides the best ball to play. The other players retrieve their ball and place it next to the selected ball, within one (1) club length but not closer to the hole. The ball may not be moved from the rough to the fairway. All four players hit their second shot. The captain again selects the best ball and so on until the ball is holed out. The one (1) club length rule does not entitle a player to move the ball out of a hazard, onto the putting surface, or any other movement which would violate the rules of golf. The one (1) club length rule does not apply on the putting surface. Players must putt from the exact point where the ball came to rest. As soon as one player sinks a putt, the score is recorded and no further play is permitted. Example: If the first three players miss the putt, they must mark the closest putt and allow the fourth player to try to make his putt. Do not tap the ball into the hole before all players have had the opportunity to putt. One drive per player must be used at least one time each day of the tournament. The tee-shot on par three's will count as a drive. If the ball selected has been hit out of bounds, the team will take a 2-stroke penalty and continue play. All players will re-hit the shot from the original spot the out-of-bounds shot was hit from.
SPECIAL EVENTS
PAR 3 HOLES ~ All par 3 holes will consist of "Hole-in-One" contests. Prizes will vary from hole to hole. Each hole will be appropriately marked. Only the first player to make a hole-in-one at each par will win a prize. Volunteers will be covering the hole-in-one contests. The purpose of the volunteers is to monitor or validate a hole-in-one. These holes will be monitored at all times during play.
In addition to the hole-in-one contests, the following contests are also included:
-
Flag Holes ~ At the Flag Hole, a player is allowed to wager from $5 to $100 that he can make birdie. He will be paid three times his wager, if he makes a birdie. there will be six flags on the green. The odd colored flag is the only hole that will count for the hole-in-one contest. If all four players wager, then they individually have a chance to make 2 on their own ball. If a player makes a 2 on their own ball, he wins the wager and records a 2 for the hole. In the better ball format, if the wagering players fail to make 2 on their own ball, they continue until the ball is holed. In the scramble format, if the wagering players fail to make 2 on their own ball, the captain selects the best tee-shot of the group and all four players play from that spot. If a 2 is made, the team records a 2, but the wager is lost.
-
Pot-of-Gold Hole ~ This is a team wager only. The team can place a wager that will allow them to participate in a Closest-to-the-Hole contest known as the "Pot of Gold." The team will wager $40 per team per day to compete in a Closest-to-the-Hole contest. The participant that is Closest-to-the-Hole after each day of play will win the total proceeds of the wagers collected for the day. This is an each day event. The tee volunteer will be required to accept the wager and log the team on the tally sheet. The volunteer at the green will be responsible to measure the distance of the team ball closest to the flag, and log the distance.
